WHAT IS MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY (MFT)?

It is a series of guided and individualized exercises that restores and develops normalized functions of the facial and oral muscles. In our office, it is often used in-conjunction with Appliance Therapy, as it helps to enhance the process.

WHY IS IT HELPFUL?

We use MFT to identify harmful habits and dysfunctional muscles of the face and oral cavity. If the muscles are not normalized, relapse of treatment is often seen. We need to correct the problem that caused the need for treatment in the first place. Through MFT our patients will get optimal results and retention of treatments.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. Evaluation process, all the muscles of the face and oral cavity are assessed. Trouble areas and harmful habits are identified.

2. Goals and objectives are generated

3. Individualized exercises are assigned and monitored through multiple zoom sessions with our Myofunctional Therapist.
